Graduate and Post-Doctoral Awards
The Princeton Institute for Hasidic Thought invites applications from advanced graduate students and postdoctoral scholars for its competitive fellowship and award program. PIHT is committed to fostering rigorous scholarly inquiry into Hasidic thought, history, culture, and its broader intellectual and religious significance. We welcome applicants from all academic disciplines whose research engages meaningfully with these areas.
PIHT fellowships and awards support original research at the graduate and postdoctoral levels. Recipients are selected on the basis of academic merit, the significance of their proposed research, and its potential to advance the field. Award amounts range from $5,000 to $30,000, commensurate with the scope of the project and the applicant's career stage.
Applications are open to:
-
Graduate students currently enrolled in a doctoral program at an accredited institution
-
Postdoctoral scholars within five years of receiving their doctorate
Applicants from all fields and disciplines are encouraged to apply. No prior specialization in Jewish Studies is required, provided the proposed research bears substantive relevance to Hasidic thought or tradition.
Interested candidates should submit the following materials by email to fellowships@hasidicthoughtprinceton.org:
-
A curriculum vitae (CV)
-
A cover letter describing the proposed research, its scholarly significance, and the requested award amount
Applications must be received by April 15. Applicants are encouraged to reach out with any questions prior to submitting their materials.
